DOW Lower At Noon
In the noon hour the DOW is at 15,297.73 down 20.50 points.
We are about to witness a rather amazing moment in our economic history. Bernanke's words will either instantly create or delete billions and billions in equity value, and possibly set the markets' course for the upcoming period of time. That's a curious position of power to be in.

The Market On Wednesday
Good morning. It is 55 degrees and mostly sunny this morning here in Upstate NY. It's cool out, the birds are chirping, and the sound of the suburb - saws and trucks preparing construction - is all around. I watched an amazing basketball game last night. Fans of the round ball know what I mean. The Heat have bounced back against the Spurs leading to a game 7 winner take all contest I believe on Thursday night. The refereeing had a lot to do with this game. The calls were questionable, very questionable. These two teams are extraordinary. In my opinion they are practically equal.
At 8:15 a.m. ET futures are modestly higher and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open slightly higher.
Today is the day investors have been anticipating for a while. At 2:30 this afternoon, Bernanke will tell the investment world what is what regarding quantitative easing. The market will and I say this with extreme confidence here, I mean it, react accordingly. Good news will boost the indexes, bad will tank them, and in between news will produce mixed results although mixed news will probably also tank the indexes. Expect to hear about it all afternoon on the news and radio.

The Market On Tuesday
Good morning. It is 58 degrees and mostly sunny here in Upstate NY. Rain and thunderstorms are predicted for later today. I did not watch Obama last night, nor will I watch clips although I do suspect I will read articles and such on his NSA program. There is a tradition in medicine and war that takes the latest in technology and utilizes it as medicine and a weapon respectively. As technology advances that will continue. Remember anything that is occurring now will appear as the good old days of simplicity to future generations. That is the contemplation that is of interest to me. Data collection on our personal private activity, now a useless term actually, is in its infant stages. Whatever is occurring now in data collection is primitive. The remaining shreds of democracy move into the future tattered and weak and its lasting outcome probably in more doubt than ever.
At 7:45 a.m. ET futures are modestly higher and the price of oil is down. The market is poised to open mixed.
Yesterday's gains came as a surprise to many. It's rather tricky to gauge the mood of the market as it shifts from day to day. Essentially the DOW remains in lofty territory at the moment. The next big shift will occur on Wednesday with a conference from Bernanke on future Fed policy meaning more articulation of the Fed's quantitative easing program, the next make or break obstacle in the road.
